Rosemary Vasquez Tuthill, “Thank you for your interest.  My oil portrait paintings are influenced by my father’s, Emigdio Vasquez’s, style – but with a feminine touch.  My father was a renowned artist with over 400 oil paintings.  In my opinion, a portrait painting is a unique gift for all ages that can become a family heirloom.   

I can paint in a photo-realistic style which is a determined effort to reproduce a photo image in an oil medium.  I can also paint in an “interpretive” style where I start with a photograph and emphasize an individual’s character in a gritty style.  As an example, the old masters in the Renaissance era, painted to emphasized earthy life and austerity.
